First Monday Flea Market

This weekend is once again, the weekend I live for. First Monday in Canton Texas. One of the best flea markets in the country, so I hear. And It is so close to my home.
I spent the day out there yesterday and here is what I picked up.

I got more of those chippy panels, some long ceiling tin for some shabby shelves.
3 church pew hymnal pockets, a dough bowl, and look at those great bricks.

I also picked up this door hardware

And this old clock

I bought the clock for it's parts, not as a clock

Just look at that brass face

I also found a ton of old jewelry bits and pieces.
My allergies kicked up while I was there, so by the time I got home I was miserable.
I'm feeling much better today though. DH and I went up to my booth (he hadn't seen it) I took some of the bricks, and picked up my first Check. Yeah!!!!
Here's a close up of my "new wall". I'm trying to play up the
Valentines theme right now. But those valentines are not for sale, I just love em.

Ya'll have a great weekend.
Margo

  3. Sher, that green is rustoleum, painter's touch herbal green in the gloss finish. Bought it at Home Depot. It is a pretty color isn't it.

  4. Margo, looks like you found some great items at Canton. I went on
friday, found some great buys. Found some really cute wooden silverware trays one green, the other yellow and red. Found a lady
with three table everything was 2 for $1. Picked up some milk glass and some old kitchen spoons. On the way home I picked up a dresser for $10 needs lots of work but when I removed the mirror today it
was stamped 1933 made in AR. I will have to paint it had to remove lots of veneer. Can wait to see what you make out of that old clock. Have a great day.

  5. Hey Margo - those old cabinet panels turned into some good items for your T2T business. I really like that old clock. I like that little green shelf, too. I didn't buy anything this time. Hayley and I went for a little while, but I needed to get back and we just walked around and enjoyed the day. It was nice. Later - Vickie

  7. I'm so jealous! I'm in Fort Worth and don't get over that way very often. I think it's been 3 or 4 years since I've been to Canton. Love the stuff you picked up, though. May have to try again!
