Found by a picker friend of mine, with me in mind. Of course I scooped it up faster than you can say toot-a-loops.
Ok, I'm open for guesses (see bottom of post for answer)

I think I know what it is, but not sure

Whatever it is, it will be in my Etsy store soon.
Thanks to my faithful readers, it turns out this is a vintage store broom display. I was a bit skeptical so I googled it and... show-nuff. Not sure how it worked as such, but there it is. My guess was a candle dipper.

Wow! Don't have a clue...it's an interesting piece. Lots of possibilities there!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Jane
I'm not sure but I'll keep checking back until someone does know.
ReplyDeleteHangs in a diner kitchen with the orders hanging from it? I dunno, but I see a light fixture happening!
ReplyDeleteSee you soon at Junk Bonanza!

I know what it is.....amazing! Ha! Okay, my real guess is primitive receipt holder from a store or restaurant. I really have no idea, but when I first saw it I thought it would make a perfect photo holder.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking something from a diner or cafe to hang orders on? Lots of fun possibilities!
ReplyDeleteCan I buy it? Do let me know how much it is to Canada? Love it!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a broom display from an old general store!!! Had one myself a few years ago, always regretted selling it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a hanging lamp that's lost it's fabric covering. It would look great with some paper mache' and turned into a birdcage!
ReplyDeleteit is a hanging general store display for brooms.

Corrina & Joan are correct. An antique dealer/expert friend of mine had one that I always envied and she re-purposed it to hang pots & pans from above her stove!
ReplyDeletehmmm... I'm guessing it holds short order tickets for the cook - in a diner?
ReplyDeleteOr! You could hang spare socks on it in the laundry room. (that's probably NOT it, but if you repurposed it?)
...make it a good one, Pat
I dont have any idea but I see a light fixture!~
