Rain Rain Go Away!!!!!

I am so sick of this rain. For those of you who don't know, I'm in East Texas. And I believe it has rained everyday since my son's birthday, May 21. I thought it might be dry all day yesterday, but at around 8:00pm, it sprinkled again. Not much to speak of, but it did keep the daily rain streak going. Today I got up early and started mowing, as I was mowing it started to sprinkle on me. I was able to finish thank goodness, but now it's not only raining, It's pouring. My yard is washing away, and I have puddles on top of puddles. We don't really have any risk of flooding our home because we are on a hill, but our yard is a swamp. My troubles are nothing, as I have friends whos home is flooding and there is nothing they can do but wait for it to dry out. I checked the 10 day forecast and rain is in it everyday this week. AHHHHHH!!!!! Last year drought, this year flood. Where is Noah when you need him. Here's a pic of my yard.

As I was mowing, I saw lots of sand washed down, and little "creeks" that have been formed naturally in my yard for drainage. The other day I noticed that a little gully that we have for drainage had a little waterfall going in it. "Oh" I exclaimed "we have a water feature". Well I'm sure God knows what he's doing, but my paint won't dry and I've got moss growing on everything. "Lord, can we talk about this? I know I prayed for rain, but you can stop now."

I can sympathize with your flooding...we live in an area of Central FL that has had 5 years of way too much rain, plus 4 hurricanes and a tornado thrown in. My husband says it's "drown or drought"...this year it's dry, dry and drier..At times like this, you just have to live with what you get, help those who get too much, and pray that we have not messed up the planet so badly that this bad weather pattern continues! OK ;o)..I'll get off my soapbox now...Take care and pray for sunshine!

Wow--that's a lot water! Send some to Montana--we are so dry here that there have been forest fires already My paint dries faster than I can get it on. If only we could combine our two climates!

I just had to share the irony... Just got back from Marshall/Jefferson (missed The Little House, darn it, Hubby got cranky after all the stores in Jefferson) but after a rainy start it was beautiful for a few hours on Saturday and POURED all day today - got back to Dallas and *nothing* in the rain gauge. I think I missed the only 2 days of no rain at home in the last 2 months straight - all to have followed the rain east. haha.

Margo,
You are getting all of the rain, and here in Southern California, we had the driest year on record.
What is going on??
I hope it dries up soon for you.
