OMG-So much fun in Canton-warning long post

If you've just popped over here from Garden web, I linked to the wrong post. Please go here to read about my Minnesota trip.

I have never had so much fun on a Canton trip as I did today. My goal this trip wasn't so much to find junk, although I did plenty of that. My goal was to meet up with some fellow bloggers and a couple of famous Junkers. First let's talk about the JunkMarket Ladies, Ki and Sue. They have finally made it down to our great flea market, First Monday Trades Days in Canton Texas. I am a member of the Junk Club and so I couldn't let the opportunity pass to meet them. They knew I was coming, being a member of the Junk Club, I can post on the forums and they actually respond to the posts.
So my first stop (after the bathroom) was their booth in the Civic Center.

When I got to their booth I saw who I thought was Ki, but I wasn't sure because her hair was a little different. After a second or two I decided to ask and sure enough it was Ki. When I introduced myself, she got that look of recognition and we hugged, and she gave me the best compliment a junker can receive (about my projects) and then we visited.

Then I met Tim. If you are a club member, and forum poster, you will know him as the forum moderator and general technical guy.

Sue was not there so I went to do a little shopping to come back later to meet Sue.
Here is an overview of their booth.

So I went out and met up with Linda of Linda's Blue Gate, and sat on her comfortable rockers, under her awning with her nice fan blowing on me and I met and visited with her husband. It was a nice visit, but I needed to move on. Let me just say, that you can visit all of these nice bloggers, I'm mentioning, by looking at the list on the right and just click on over.
Then I headed back into the Civic center to see if Sue had returned, and she had. Ki took me over and introduced me and we got our picture.

I snapped a few more pics of their booth, purchased some things and found some "famous Junk" see pics below. That is THE actual hamper, shutter cabinet, lazy susan etc.

Now stay with me because the best part of this story is yet to come.
Then I headed off to find the Veranda
They had the best holloween display at their store and I purchased some great items there.

Then I headed off to find Laurie Anna's where Tina of Cherry Hill Cottage was working.

These ladies were working their little patooties off, and I was able to help them out with one chore that I was happy to do. Now by this time I'm a little withered by the Texas heat, My makeup has melted away, and my hair is falling down, but I'm having a great time. I don't look so great, but I'm having a great time.

Then I headed out to do some more shopping, I found lots of great little items that I will post about later. Let's just say I think I have a thing for numbers and letters.
I was out of money but not energy so I headed back into the civic center to hit the ATM machine and decided to pop back to the JunkMasters booth (being the groupie I am) and Sue was there. I showed her what I had gotten and one particular thing she really liked. I told her they had tons of them and I'd take her if she wanted. And Off we went. To say I was as giddy as a school girl would be an understatement, I was junking with a JunkMaster!!!!! Well the place I took her was The Veranda and here she is digging through the basket of letter number teaching aids that I had shown her.

She told me what she was going to do with them, and I'll not give it away, but as to say, she is writing a book that will be awesome, and these will be in a project that will be in that book, (clap, clap, clap, clap jump up and down). It should be out in 2009. :(

Here are few more pics of their booth that I snapped as I was leaving.

And Yes I did get them to autograph my book, which they were kind enough to do.

Now as for what I bought, Tune in tomorrow, this post is long enough.

Thou shall not covet--but forgive me because I am. It sounds like a wonderful day and I am way jealous. If you see the gals again, give them a junkin' squeeze for me. Can't wait to see what you found too! Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you Ü.

Oh, my goodness! You met Sue and Ki! In person! That's...that's.... well, maybe not quite as good as Hugh Jackman ....but .....ALMOST!

I enjoyed living vicariously through your blog post. Now, how can I join the junk club? I didn't know about that.

OK I'm green with envy. Would love to meet the "junk masters" too. Sounds like you had a great time. This looks like a wonderful flea market. Just may have to take off work and travel there one of these days. Looking forward to your photo but the one's here are inspirational. Off now to a new type of garage sale--a storage facility is holding a sale and can't wait to dive in.
