The best stuff is in the Garage

I'm so glad to be home, and I feel that I am back into my routine. I really don't like to be away from home, and feel my most comfortable and relaxed when I am here.
Before I left for OK, I was able to hit an estate sale last thursday, where once again, I found the best stuff in the garage. I picked up 2 old pulleys, and a box of misc hardware. Here are the pulleys.

I love the shape of the metal on the first one and the second one has a great blue patina on the sides.

While I was in OK I picked up these items.

Can you see the hand mirror there for my collection, 3 mechanical clock faces for future projects, or just to have in a basket, and a bunch of rusty metal fall leaves.

Then waiting for me when I got home was a package from one of my junk friends Judith.
She wanted me to have a box of misc jewelry pieces that she had no use for. I gladly accepted and it was full of treasures. Thank you Judith for your thoughtfulness.

So once again, Junk has filled my weekend, and is filling my home and barn. It's a great life.

Glad you had a good visit but know what you mean about getting home and back to your own schedule. I'm a creature of habit.

Hope we can have a shopping/lunch day soon!

You got some cool stuff. Love the clock faces.

You are so right! The best things are always in the garage, basement, outbuildings, attic if you can get up there....oh, and the garbage. The stuff in these places are almost always undervalued, too. It's where I start shopping most of the time.

Margo and Joy: you too???? I always make a beeline for the basement/attic/garage first. Everyone laughs at me. While they're crushing around a locked cabinet of exquisite, fine, expensive silver and jewelry, I'm grabbing the crusty stuff!

Margo, you definitely find the coolest stuff!

If you think the best stuff is in the garage, you would love my husband's garage! Filled to the rafters!

Welcome back! ;-) I love the fact that, regardless of where you go, you take time to check out the junk sales! I love, love, love the PO boxes! Oh, could I ever put those to use!!!

Those pulleys make a great flower pot holder, was on HGTV, put a flower pot on each side, then you can pull up & down to water. I have been looking for pulley's all summer. No luck, looove your blog. Look at it at least 2 times a week. Judy
