More Weekend Finds

Ok this first item has a story. Friday I went to this garage sale and in the garage I found this great cabinet, with doors and when you open the doors, lots of cubbies. There was no price, so I asked. They young man went inside and the young lady proclaims "it's already sold". My heart sank, but I asked the question, "how much did you sell it for?" When she told me $20.00 My heart sank further, so I left, head hung low. Well Saturday when DH and I were driving around, I saw a sign for a garage sale and we turned. It ended up being the same sale, and we were approaching from a different direct. The cabinet was still inside, so I though I'd take a chance. I asked if it was sold, and they said that it had never been picked up. I asked if it had been paid for and when she said "no" I offered $30.00 for it and now it's mine. I figured not paid for is not purchased. Here it is.

I'm going to lend it to the Mall and let them use it as a "mail center" for us dealers.
Someday I may do something else with it, But I just love all those cubbie holes. It is an old piece
I can tell by some of the writing inside.

Then after that we stopped by a junk shop, and I saw this wooden box full of rusty metal things. The thing that caught my eye were this old rusty store display signs. The kind you slide cards in that say what you want to say. When I inquired he said "the whole box is $4 but you have to take it all". Well, you guessed it, I took it all.

See the signs, There was also a leather gun holster belt, that I have an idea for

The wooden box is nice too for future projects See the rusty doll stands, Any ideas for them?

And there were some great tools in there, some door hardware, and other great rusty stuff

Another pic of the signs.

So that is my Junking Adventure for this past weekend.
Hope you had a good one.
Margo

My hubby and I read this post together. I laughed out loud at the guy who told you that you had to "take it all". He obviously doesn't know junkers and he especially didn't know your reputation!

What a great piece that first item is! You're very generous to loan it to the flea market.

That last box of stuff...well, you're going to have fun with it, but that's just the kind of stuff that I'd love to toss out of my dad's garage. LOL!

Hi Margo, that is a great old cupboard. Glad you were able to purchase it. I have been to the mall and saw your booth. You make the neatest things and have all your stuff displayed so nicely. I love the big change to the mall. I will be going back soon and taking my daughter.

Blessings,Shelley

Wouldn't those signs make neat little menu holders or even photo holders?
