Woo-Hoo A Day in Canton

I spent the day in Junkers Heaven in Canton Texas today and came home with the usual pile of rusty and crusty stuff.

I'll get to the stuff later, but here are a few pics of booth's I visit regularly
First is the Veranda and Margaret and Lilly's place

I love the way they merchandise

Now we'll visit Linda at Linda's blue gate in Arbor III
You've seen her Yard Conservatories before, here are a couple of cute viniettes she had set up.

It was real hard to visit with Linda because she had so much business. I especially enjoyed my visit with the Red Hat Ladies.

Here's the obligatory "cute dog" picture

This guy did some wonderful License Plate art and his prices were so much better than
that other guy that has his stuff in all the designer homes. This piece was 250.00

He also had lots of Texas shapes and many others.

Now for my JUNK

Ceiling Tin, the big piece is for an inset in a coffee table I'm working on. The smaller pieces are for future project. I also got this door header and there is a metal sign on it that says Farmers something. It's going in my booth

these wooden things, the fan like one is a cloths dryer rack, and the others are
parts of a surveyors tripod. Not sure what I'll do with them yet.

The usual rusty metal stuff, and some flatware for jewelry, a couple of old clocks
some hinges, faucet knobs for faucet chandy's and some great old divided wood drawers

China plates for wreaths and swags

Close up of those great drawers.

I had a great time as usual, It had rained in the morning so the field was nice and muddy ;/
Now I've got to get busy creating with all this great junk.

Have a great weekend
Margo

Hi - I was at Canton today, too and didn't really see things get going good until after 12 or so. Wasn't the weather beautiful later in the afternoon?!? Looked here and there but didn't really see any of the same junque that you found! Not sure where you go - still learning my way around. Did you find the deals any better due to the rain? Do enjoy your blog and your wonderful creations -keep up the good work - Angela noblog

Leave it to you to find the most interesting stuff!!! What are you going to do with that shoe stretcher? I have several and was going to send you a couple of mine but didn't have room in the box!

Sher

Interesting artwork made from license plates...pricey, but interesting.

Glad that you had a great day!

Angela no blog: You need to go out into the fields by the Civic Center, and be willing to dig in all those dirty boxes.
Sher: Now I'm really intrigued as to what is in my goodie box. I'd have loved some more shoe forms or stretchers or whatever they are. I'm not sure yet, but I am thinking of a possible project.
Vee: There is a guy that sells similar items online, in the thousands of dollars. I thought this was cheap. I hope he finds a market out there. he does good work. I wish I had picked up his card. His texas ones were about 50.00.
