Changing

If there is one thing that Junkers have in common, it's that we like to change our stuff around, often. That is one reason I'm a junker, changing stuff is easy and cheap, when you use junk.
My living room has had a few changes over the past few weeks, that I thought I'd share.

First I have this rusty old troth (sp) that we dug up in a flower bed. I have no idea it's original purpose, but now it is a candle holder on my coffee table. Add a little pea gravel and some candles and your done.

I had some framed art on either side of the black hole, um... er.... TV, there. I've changed it to these great shaped window frames with 1/2 spindles in each. It was so hard to cut that spindle, but worth it. One of the spindles is slightly off center and driving me crazy. I'm just too lazy to grab the hammer and move the nail over 1/2 inch.

Some of the gears I got in Minnesota

And lastly, when I accidentally knocked off the shirt drawer ,turned shelf that was in this corner, I decided not to re-hang it. Instead I hung this collection of hinges that I'd been accumulating.
I just love the color of this room, My house is all fall colors and not what a lot of you like (ie cottage) but I love it.

Well there you have it, just a few easy and simple changes, giving my LR some new life. It's funny, we have friends who come over every few months, and always ask to see "what I've changed".

I'm on your page for colors! It's exactly like my living room...well can't be exactly...I took the intended color (3/4 strength) and added 4 cups of white to 2 gallons...or something like that-HA (guilty, I'm a paint mixer). Anyway it turned out like yours and I love it. Of course I ran out and will have to colormatch to do any touch-ups. LOVE your rusty stuff..we think alike! You do a great job of bringing it all together.

Margo--I like your colors too. What color is that? It looks a little like blonde from Sherwin Williams. Course, I love your gears too!

Love your gears .... that's what I love about the "Shabby Cottage Chic Repurpose" design ... anything goes. It always looks great when your personality is in the details.
