Identity Crisis

I've been struggling with my office for awhile now. This is not my office at home but at our business. I tried to go kinda "Junk Cottage" awhile back, but it is just not working for me.

I'm kinda stuck with modern-ish furniture, and of course those beautiful office machines that everyone depends on to actually get things done.

You can't see it in this pic, but just below this shelf is a printer, to the left of that the monitor/keyboard, and then other office machines next to that.

And of course wonderful filing cabinets, postage machine, and copy machine.
So I've decided if you can't beat em, join em.
I'm changing it all to "Vintage Industrial Office Junk Chic" .

I did this gear wall art a few months ago, and I love it. I've also got a small collection of old office products that I'll be using. I have a few other ideas too.
I'm thinking anything Metal, Old, Industrial, etc. so
Watch for Industrial Junk projects forthcoming...
And if you have any ideas, send them to me. I'm gonna have fun with this.

Are you able to paint? I'm thinking either a stone grayish/tan to stay with the industrial theme or even a cool slate blue color. Anything with a brushed chrome finish along with things that are black to go with your wall art. Paint the file cabinets to either match the walls or black to go with accessories. Hope these idea's help and good luck!

What a great project!

What immediately comes to mind are metal swim suit baskets for filing, old industrial venetian blinds for the windows. A big office clock. And maybe an old punch-in time clock on the wall!

Love the gear art on the wall. Looks great. I have absolutely zip advice to offer, though.

I LOVE the gears on the wall!!! That's fantastic! I would definitely paint the filing cabinets if you can - hammered black is so fun!!! Also, instead of a cork board you could use an old handicap bar (or pipe similar to...) and hang old metal clipboards at various heights with some rusty old chain! Just some thoughts - please keep us posted!!!
