I don't usually do this but a friend of mine is struggling with cancer and I feel the need to share her story and ask you all for prayers.
Michelle T, wife and homeschooling Mom , with 2 daughters, ages approx 18 & 8. Was recently diagnosed with Melanoma in her lungs after a volunteer scan while at work revealed a spot in her lungs. You see Michelle works at a radiologist office, and they had installed a new machine. She volunteered to test the machine, and the results were puzzling. At first they thought they'd mis-calibrated it. But no, she had melanoma in multiple locations.
A PET scan revealed one spot in her liver and on two lymph nodes along with the larger one in her lungs.
She has been doing some treatments that have not been effective, and this is the latest update from her facebook page
10/30/2009 Well we made it home from Houston safe and sound. Thank you Lord! Driving home in the storms was not fun at all.
We met with the doctor and the news we received was not what we wanted to hear. This horrible disease has spread pretty much throughout my body, including one lesion in the brain. I tell you this only to let you know that we are prepared to fight this battle! In no way are we giving in to this disease. Our God is the almighty physician and we trust in him fully!
Our first step is to get this brain lesion taken care of. I will be contacting a neurosurgeon today and hopefully we can get this done quickly.
The next step is to go back to Houston in a couple of weeks and discuss options. Unfortunately the trial that I have been waiting on for so long will no longer be an option. One of the exclusions is metastasis to the brain. While that is very disappointing, I have to believe that God has a plan. (and his plan is perfect)
"If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God
Difficult moments,seek God
Quiet moments,worship God
Painful moments,trust God
Every moment, thank God"

Will do! Michelle will be in my prayers.
So Sorry Margo, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers which have been many. Jamie
Michelle is in my prayers as well.
It's too much of a coincidence that she volunteered to try-out the new machine. God wanted the cancer found and treated. I am praying for her healing and comfort.
Certainly, Margo, I'm sending up a prayer right now even as I type. I'll put her on my prayer list for sure. Thanks for sharing and for being a friend to her.
thinking and praying - both for her and for you...
Prayers sent.
Hi Margo, your friend Michelle's faith just spoke to me from the words I read on this post...I stopped what I was doing and said a prayer, asking God to honor her faith by answering the need according to his will...I pray all goes well with her treatments and in the end she has a wondrous testimony of God's healing power to share with all...his will be done...In Jesus name...Please,keep us posted on her journey as she fights this terrible disease....blessings
Margo, I'll add her to my prayer list. I'm having a pink tag sale at the shop to raise money for a friend of mine too that is battling cancer.
Margo, I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer and with so many prayers going up for Michelle, I feel certain God will reveal his plan to her. Her faith is something we should all strive for.

Hi I want to say that I am sorry to hear about your friend. I too remember being dianosed with cancer. It will turn your world upside down. I had a rare aggressive Lymphoma that is incurable, but treatable. My last treatment was in June of 08 and to date, I am CANCER FREE! I go back next month for another full body check up. Getting through this isn't just the medicine and drs, it is also FAITH and ATTITUDE! Sounds like your friend has all of the above! I went to MD Anderson in Houston and they ROCK! Is this where she is going? And does she live far from there? I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers!
