gully washer:
A torrential rain that causes ditches to overflow creating flash floods on streets and roadways.
This morning, after months of unusually dry conditions, I woke up to this.
This area above is just outside my barn (where all the junk is stored).
This water is moving, quite quickly downhill. If I'd been standing in it, I would have been knocked over.
This is just outside my back door, this water is also moving, and the rain is still coming down. My area got over 6" in 1 night. We needed it, but not all at once, Shesh!!!!
Well, we'll take what we can get. DH and I surveyed the damage this evening, and it's nothing we can't deal with. But I did sink over 2" in some spots if I stood still too long. :)

Wow, that's quite a torrent! My barnyard looked very similar to that a month ago. I'm an hour south of Nashville, and we got a lot of that rain. Hope things dry up quickly.
I am always amazed at the power of water. Glad you are all right and didn't have a lot of damage. A little mess is trouble enough.
that's a tiny bit scary!

Should I send a boat? That's quite a rain. You could almost go tubin'!
I wish we would have got some of that. We are fried down here. I want to see green. My peaches are so skinny because the lack of water. I love your blog makeover. Blessings, Marta.
It WAS a storm! My heart just broke when I saw the news from Arkansas. A terrible storm.
Thank goodness the water didn't get into your stuff. It doesn't take much to make a mess.
