Mr Robo and I decided to take a little trip to Canton on Sunday. I had already been earlier in the week and wasn't looking for anything in particular, I also wasn't feeling 100%, so I wasn't planning on any power shopping.
I guess he was, as he got 2 car jack stands, some metal saw horses and a shop stool for his garage workshop. I picked up a metal sign, a small light cage and this great branch of cotton from Maggie.
Now if you have kids call them in to take a look, and tell them that this is how cotton comes in it's original form. My 19yr old son had never seen it like this and I realized that most kids haven't.
Well Mr Robo thought it was the silliest thing I had purchased EVER. I told him that he just didn't understand. I've been trying to find cotton for forever.
As we were walking back towards the "funnel cakes" and a lady stopped to ask where I found it, and later while eating funnel cake, two different ladies stopped to ask me where I found it.
He kept telling them we would sell them ours, while I jabbed him with my elbow. Men!!!!
Anyway, I think he realized I wasn't as crazy as he thought I was, either that or every other woman is as crazy as his. :)
I looove my cotton branch! oh yes, and Mr Robo.

My husband does that to me all the time.....questions my crazy purchase and then sees everyone asking where I bought it! Love your cotton and No I haven't seen any for sale myself either!

I have never seen cotton on a branch either... neat.
Great find! I'm 26 and just recently saw "cotton"
I'm from cotton country so I laughed a bit at your purchase. However, I do understand it! It's wonderful to decorate with in a fall display. I've even used the boles to make angels. That might just be another Junk Market post. Enjoy your beautiful cotton!
I've always loved them too and never was able to find any. One year I tried to grow cotton here in my garden in Indiana. Didn't work. Not so much. Fun trying though.
I've always like cotton branches and wanted one myself, but never able to find any. Tried to grow it one year here in my northern IN garden. Didn't work. Not so much. Fun trying though!
I bought a sack full of cotton bolls from Ethel several years ago and made them into a wreath. Coming from McKinney (cotton country) I grew up seeing more than my share. There are some beautiful fields of it every year between home and Waxahachie.

Wow, Margo - wish I'd known - we saw tons and tons of cotton ready to be harvested in Arkansas this weekend...
I love cotton, too - It'd look good in some kind of arrangement OR just lying on a black and white platter!!! ;o)
Hi Margo....!
Your cotton branch is LOVELY....Years ago when I was in Texas I was out for a drive with Friends & we stopped on the side of the road by a cotton field....I'd never seen one before & pinched two pods....Along with birds nests I think they're the sweetest natural element to decorate with....!
Hope you're having a HUGE week Lovey....! NOT LONG TO GO now....WOOHOO....!
Cheers from Oz,
Tam :o)
This cotton branch is beautiful. It's so simple but still it has elegance. Men don't always get it.
I didn't see real cotton until I was in my late teens! There is a local seed catalog here that has cotton that grows naturally in various colors. I'm going to try and grow some next year. Lavender cotton...the thought makes me smile!
