What a lovely bakers rack, industrial, utilitarian, a little bit country not too frilly, I love it. but of course I can never buy something "off the rack" I've got to robo-fy it. So let's go slimmer, and shorter to fit my space
Ok, it's easy on photoshop but what about the real world. Now I've got to find myself a welder who can make it for me, that won't cost a fortune. Or come up with another way to make it myself. Any ideas out there?????
I'm really jones-ing for this now.
Here are a few others that may find parts of them morphed into my finished product whenever I get it finished??????

In a year I'm sure I'll be able to find exactly what I want everywhere, but I'm like Varuca Salt and
I WANT IT NOW!!!

Don't you just love when inspiration strikes?! Looking forward to seeing your project!
The entire Restoration Hardware catalog makes my gears turn. There are so many industrial items that I want or want to replicate. I will be building some hay trolley lights this winter.
That is a great look! I look forward to seeing how you replicate it. So perhaps I could replicate yours.
It's a great idea. I had something like that once upon a time but found that the dishes just got too dusty so I gave it up. I come via Ruth's blog. You have a very nice blog. Good luck with your project.
Heya Margo....!
Greetings from 'tpdj'....bleckkkkk....Anyways....I'm with you....These racks are AWESOME....Perhaps pop over to Lori at Frugal Farmhouse Design & check out her post from the 6/10/10.
I think you'd be able to do something WAY COOL with the industrial piping etc....!!
Cheers for now,
Tamarah :o)
Love it, there is nothing like a good inspiration to get you thinking!
love that shelf. I want one too!
You could build it out of galvanized or copper pipe. Unless that's a little too industrial.
I love this look too. I love that whole soft industrial/Modern Country look. Yum!
I do wonder about the dusting with that much open shelving. Do you think it would collect a lot?
I guess all the stuff would be in constant use so it'd probably be fine.
Looking forward to seeing your ideas.

I cannot wait to see what you come up with. I love the last one that you showed in the photo, the price is crazy. All the best, Lori
Margo...I want it too! How perfect it would be sitting in my office. Hurry up and figure this one out!

Can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm sure it will be just as amazing as the pictures!

That is a great shelf...I could use one too with all of the ironstone I've collected. If you come up with a way to make it...please share :)

Oh yes let's see what you're made of ;) I would love to try make something like this.. perhaps I shall let you experiment firs!!
Wow, lots of interest in this project. Dust seems to be the biggest thought, and it didn't escape my thoughts as well. I have a great idea for the bottom shelf to protect the dishes from dust and flying dog hair. Stay tuned.
Margo
I'll bet you come up with a way, Margo! That is so very cool - I must admit - and so YOU! I'll keep my eyes open...
I want one too! Love each of those. Seems to me you could make something out of two ladders and some great old boards. Needs wheels maybe?
You could probably make something like that out of scaffolding. Home Depot has some and you could put wood planks across. I found one for $97 by googling "Home Depot Scaffolding" (the link was too long to include here).
I need something for a display at an upcoming craft sale so actually I am about to make something similar but using real logs for the ladders on each side.
If anyone can do it Margo, it's you! I'm sure your finished shelving unit will be incredible...can't wait to see it!!!
Hugs ~

Hi Margo! How about two metal ladders sideways on with shelves of wood between them? Happy junking!
Can't wait to see what you come up with Margo!!! I'm still debating what color to paint the one I found! ;)
