Refreshing the Front Porch

I love my Southern Front Porch. Every year here in East Texas we get what we call "the pollen". It's a dusting of yellow that covers everything for about a month from Mid March to Mid April. If you wash your car one day, it's covered in yellow powder the next.
I wait until after "the pollen" every year and then I give my front porch a nice power wash, and it NEEDS it.
This year I used the opportunity to rearrange some of my junkified goodies as well. I began to realize I had accessorized my porch, almost completely with 2nd hand finds.
The table above was made with a reclaimed window and legs. The bird house from old shutters and reclaimed bits and pieces. The rockers, you guessed it, a garage sale, Even the hanging pots came from a garage sale. The window green house was made from reclaimed windows by Linda Smith on Etsy here.
The table inside the green house also a marriage of Garage Sale goodies.
The angel below made from an old table leg and reclaimed trim bits.
On the other side of the porch, old burlap sacks make the pillow covers on the swing, even the little blanket was a junkin find.

I so enjoy it when I can see all my hunting and gathering come together like this.
I still need some more plants, but I'm plum tuckered out right now.

Heads Up

Great porch! Love the reclaimed window piece. Us "Alabamaians" know exactly what you mean about pollen!
Thanx for sharing! Tiff

Love your porch and those white rockers....gorgeous. I hope one day I have my own porch...next house for sure. I have an antique metal bed that is crying to be used as a daybed for a porch as well as many other items. I'm so jealous...plus I miss the TX heat...visited there last summer for the month of July.

I drafted a post today with the same title and a table made from an old window but my porch doesn't look like that. My porch could only dream of being as cool as yours. I LOVE the window hanging on the side and love that greenhouse made from old windows. It all looks so fresh and inviting. Sadly, though, we do have the pollen too.

Girl, you know I love your porch. Those pictures really make me miss mine!
We still have plenty of pollen - I've cleaned it off the patio many times already but I am sure I will have to do it many more times before it is over.
Still waiting on birdies to hatch.

I love it all, but my favorite thing is the sunshine, snowing here. It will be another month until I get my sprucing up done!

how long is the porch? It looks great. I just moeved into a ranch style home with and old awning and uneven cement. I want to make a porch but it is 56 ft long and I am afraid that it won't look right.
