The Great Purge, Time to tackle the Jewelry

Time to Tackle the Jewelry.  I have all my jewelry (not the valuable stuff) sorted on hanging hooks, and in an old type drawer tucked inside an old armoire.   I propped the type tray up on a couple of old cabinets, but I realized the only reason I have the cabinets in there is to prop up that tray.  The whole thing, although functional was getting pretty messy and not very nice looking.

So I began to search for another way to store my jewelry, and found this.

Now I'm not one to encourage people to go out and buy new stuff, but I could see that this hanging Jewelry Organizer, might just work for me.
It was only $14 on Amazon.com and arrived today, so I got right to work.
First I emptied the cabinet, I love a clean slate.
Then sorted all my earrings and such into the handy divided pockets of the organizer.
I decided to regain some of the lower space for storage by keeping one of those cabinets.
And I love how tidy it all looks now. And I sorted my earrings by color and style as best as I could and they are all easily visible, as well as other items like pendants, and bracelets.  So this is one product I recommend if you think it might help with your jewelry sorting problems.

19 pcs in 2 days, New Jewelry Creations ala Junque

Finally my jewelry is starting to sell at Winnie & Tulula's . Partly because Wendy and Gloria are merchandising it so well with their fabulous clothing. So after my visit to my space last week I realized I needed to get back into the workshop and make some new pieces.

Well here you go 2 days 19 pcs and all using stuff I already had.

Whew... I had a slow start, but once I got going, I was like the energizer bunny. I just wish it didn't make my back hurt so much to sit at the work bench. I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my posture.

Anywhoo, this and more will be going to Winnie & Tulula's starting next week. Probably on Thursday.

New Love-Vintage Enamel Flower Brooch Pins

I have a new love, like I need another one. Vintage Enamel Flower Pins. I recently found this lovely treasury of these wonderful pins and thought I'd share it with you. I love the colors, styles, they scream 60's and 70's yet would be lovely on a blue jean jacket, pinned to a canvas bag, or a even a pillow.

I decided to gather mine together and came up with this fun necklace. Now I'm looking for more:)

Some Fun new Jewelry...I love wearing my junk

I love old transit tokens, Tool tags etc. I had accumulated quite a collection, and was wanting to put them into a necklace. The problem was every time I made a charm necklace the tokens would not hang right. This was my solution, instead of hanging them from a chain, I made a chain out of the tokens and then added to it. Tokens are fun to work with because of their character and many already have holes in them.

For the necklace below, I gathered a bunch of old broaches I had from another project. I have one of these necklaces available at Winnie & Tulula's and one in my Etsy Boutique.

I just love wearing both of these pieces.

I've also been enjoying cutting up some old Lace, and threw a few earrings together.
I've added rhinestones to each design for a little sparkle
So much fun, soon to be in my Etsy Boutique

Getting it home

I am notorious for not taking my glasses with me when I go garage sale-ing. They are in the car, but I'm already inside by the time I realize I need them. So I do my best to look through the boxes of jewelry and boxes of cool junk, trying my best to see what is in there.

The glasses thing is new with me and I'm still just in readers, but It's at the point where I NEED them. So anyway, I love it when I get home and can truly inspect what I have purchased.

Today's find is a great case. A baggie full of keys, I could see there were some interesting ones, but I couldn't truly see how many or the specifics, but the price was right so I got them.

What I see looks about like this

First thing I do when I get home is grab some glasses, rip open the baggie and inspect... I was not disappointed.

Look at some of these lovelies. I knew there were some small keys in there which I need for my Faith Necklaces, but these are great. It was like Christmas.

Woo Hoo!!!! Now a bag of old keys might not make your day, but it sure makes mine. :)

In honor of my imperfect eyesight, I've made this necklace

That is a real magnifying glass

This item and more are in my current Etsy Listings. Lots of great vintage stuff... junk and jewelry, I'm de-stashing. Hop over and see if there's anything you want.

New Jewelry Item-Symbols of Our Faith

I'm so excited about this new necklace design, I call it
The Symbols of Our Faith Necklace.
3 rings hang from a larger ring, symbolizing the Trinity.
From each ring hangs broken chains, symbolizing the release from the bondage of the Law through Christ. Gal 5:1

From several chains hang different charms, each a symbol of Jesus
The Key-Acts 4:12
The Pearl of great price - Matt 13:46
The Cross - John 19: 28-30
The Heart symbolize his love for us -John 3:16
1 or 2 chains are left open for you to add any charm you like, or simply leave them as they are.

No longer available.

TIME For another post

This weekend was lots of fun. There were so many sales. On the one hand that is great, but it's also frustrating as I just can't hit them all. I did find this great lot of old porcelain watch dials (above) and of course I got busy with the creatin'.

I had so much fun playing with all these dials, these 3 necklaces are currently on my Etsy.
I also found lots of other stuff. Some of it is already at Winnie & Tulula's, and Our Little Corner.

I went to Winnie & Tulula's on Saturday and everyone was busy moving around. Ethel has moved back to her old location, Barbara is taking another space next to where she was, and a new gal has moved in with great pet accessories, collars, clothing etc. You'll hear more about her soon over on the WT blog.

I also got a lead on some great junk and hope to get to Dallas this week to pick it up. Can't wait to share it with you.

Spring is here, and it's getting busy!!!!!!

Good Junk Pendants, fun with bits and pieces

You all know I love playing with bits and pieces, large or small. I've had fun with what I call my "good junk pendants" this week.

Various bits of this and that

Hang them on a ball chain (not included)

Even a pearl necklace

I've got 1 listed on etsy right now, I'll probably take the others to my various booths. I think these go great with blue jeans.

I've also been making some necklaces for my Greyhound Rescue buddies.

These are made from Greyhound bus brass tags. Not sure what the purpose of the tags was, but they are cool.

The one above is already sold.

And Lastly, I finally found another heart shaped perfume bottle and made this pendant. Bottle is 1.5" wide and 1.75" long plus length of hook. bottle is heart shaped, and (Hard to see) has a heart and star design in the glass. $18.00 to bloggers, plus shipping cost. Just Email Me if you are interested. I'll be listing it on etsy on Monday.

these projects along with my pillows have kept me busy this week.
My plans for the weekend are not so grand, TAXES!!!!!
Yuck, As a multi-business owner, this is the yearly challenge of getting it all together to get sent to the CPA.

I'm sure I'll work in something fun too. All work and no play makes Margo Grumpy.
Have a great weekend.
