Day 2

I had a good day, not great but good. It started off with me selling both of my double shelves, the shutter one and the screen one. It shows that you just need the right buyer. She was furnishing a farm house, and they fit right in. I also sold a Massage Chair that we no longer have to store, a TV and some other Garage Sale type of items. The funniest part was when a lady walked all the way through, and said "I guess you sold it all yesterday". Well folks, I still have most of it, and it still looks pretty crowded, so I don't know what she thought I sold all of?????
I have lots of hopes pinned on tomorrow, and if I don't sell a majority of the big items I guess I'm going to have to get a booth or something. I loved this older couple, and snapped this pic of them leaving my sale. I told my DH, I hope we are still holding hands when we are there age.

I also made a new friend, and this is a good connection within our town. There is a mom and daughter that have a "barn sale" twice a year, which has a reputation. Well the daughter came to my sale today and we had a nice visit. She rent's out space in her barb and takes a commission on each piece, I may participate in her sale next spring. It's also nice to stop and sit and not work, just sit, under the shade trees, listening to the birds. It was a nice day.

You're right Robolady - it does take the right buyer! For us, Saturdays start slow and pick up later and I usually make it a goal of mine to push some bigger thingsif they're still around. Like if anyone shows the slightest interest in a dresser or table just say "don't you just love that!" and haggle a little. You have great stuff - I hope you have a really GREAT day tomorrow!

I hope you have a great day tomorrow! You might want to check and make sure all of your signs are still up - I meant to tell you that earlier. I know I saw one that had been knocked over when we were leaving, but I can't for the life of me remember where - maybe at the first stop sign?
Do tell about your new friend - when and where are these sales and how will I find out about them? I only get the Tyler paper on Sunday.

Hi Margo,
Glad you sale went ok today too.
Love that photo of the older couple.
See you never know who you might meet at your barn sale. Now you have a new friend and a connection.
Have a great day tomorrow!

Margo,
I hope you have a great Saturday... What a lovely back drop for your sale. Your red barn and huge shade trees makes me want to sits for a spell. Sorry I couldn't be there with you.

I'm glad you're giving us a daily update. If we didn't have a few hundred miles separating us, I'd be there but at least I can see what's going on via cyberspace. Have you thought about using part of your barn as a retail shop? If you don't want to be tied down every day, it could be open one or two days a week...?
