Back to Junking

Ok folks, Here is MY car

And here is it's first junk load

I went garage sale-ing with a friend this morning and got a small load of goodies. No problem fitting them into the ride.

And that is the end of the new car Saga. I am so ready to move on to other things.

Sum of it's parts:
Last week I purchased a run down old ice box. The kind that was wooden and had a lifting lid on top. It was rotten and falling apart, but with this wonderful chippy green wood all over. I summed it up and decided that it was worth the price, for it's parts.
We'll how did I do.

There were 2 side panels an lifting lid door and an opening door on the front
I added a knob and hinges to one of the side panels to make it look like an old cabinet door. I'll probably do the same to the other piece, or use it as a small table top. The hinges came off the ice box, but I moved them to a new location.

I added another piece that I'd removed as a shelf onto the hinged lid to make a hanging dimensional shelf thing. You could rest dishes or photo's in there. Or make it a family message center. There are 2 metal straps on each side of this door, and the handle is original.

Still have some more wood and metal parts to play with

Sometimes you have to look at things as parts instead of a whole.

Very cute, Margo! Take a nail and put a little scratch on the bumper, that way you don't have to stress out the first time you scratch it while junking!
Have fun!!!

Love your new ride, Margo. I'll try to stay clear when you drive by so's I won't put that first dent on it for you! =o)

Seriously, I'd have thought you'd show us a picture with the back end already full. You're gonna have to do better than that!!!

See ya!

Good job with the car. It's really nice. I absolutely love the green color of the old ice box. I really like the little shelf. Can't wait to see what else you come up with. You are sooooo creative. Thanks for putting the links to old blogs. I missed a bunch and it's fun to catch up and to watch your style evolve.
