Bad day, lucky day

Without going into too many details, let me just say that a certain member of my family is lucky to be alive today, and we are lucky to still have him. The "new driver" angels protected him from an intersection accident with a pick up truck where he was t-boned. We are thankful to God for his blessings in this event and always. Hopefully this will be a learning experience and will prevent something worse happening in the future. Although I'm shaken up, i'm still extremely thankful that it wasn't worse. Praise God!!!!!

I'm so sorry that it had to happen, but I'm glad he is ok!

Thank you, I've received several comments some private. He is pretty shaken up by this as are we all. But he will recover. Now it's just dealing with insurance, court appearances etc. He's under 18 so he has to appear before a Judge, as do we.

Margo,
Glad he is OK!!! That is so scary.
When my daughter started driving, I used to hold my breath until she got back home safely.
I believe that the angels were there.

Bec, I have 2 sons and they both had accidents within a month of getting their license. It's very scary, they are just so inexperienced, and don't realize how fast things can go wrong. It jolts them into reality. This accident was far worse than what DS#1 had. DS#2 is still shaken up.
DS#2 is not wreckless or cockey, he just made a mistake.

Aren't you thankful that God's angels were sent to protect him? I know I've been there and there's always that sigh of relief that God didn't forget to protect those you love most. May God's angels continue to protect both sons.

My children are fairly far apart in age so luckily by the time the second one will be driving, it will have been four years since the first one started. Here in Montana they have passed a progressive driving law where kids have to drive the first 6 months with a parent and then only with a passenger who is a family member and so on. I think it could help a little. The scary thing is is that they (the famous "they") say that reasoning is not fully developed until the age of 22-23. EEghads! that's frightening! I got to tell you, I don't know how parents get through without faith. I know I couldn't. Have a good and peaceful and restful day.
PS--I can't tell you how many times I check my computer Thursday evenings--I so look forward to your new postings!

Bec4, We have the progressive license thing here too. Right now he can't have more than 1 passenger, unless there is an over 21 in the front seat with him. He can't drive between Midnight and 5am. Can't talk on Cel phone and if he gets a citation he's got to appear before the judge and do some extra classes. Unfortunately in this situation he was issued a citation, so we've got to make an appt to see the judge. My kids are 5 yrs apart, and it's not any easier with the second one.

I'll have some project updates for you tonight, glad to know someone is reading the site.
