Friday fun

Well DH and I went on the Highway 80 yard sale today (see prior post). It was a lot of fun. We started in Gladewater (a good antiquing town itself) traveled west to Mineola, (another good antiquing town). We'd drive a lot between sales, and then We'd see one or 2 and stop. I found lots of great buys so Here are some of my goodies.

This frame was only $3

I got Gourds, Spindles, and great clay pots, See that folded thing, It's an old stitching carrier.

This great Coke carrier

A peterboro Cake Basket

DH found this. It's an old atlas in Russian

It was next to this old survey of Ireland

Trinkets, Rusty latches

Beads

Badge in German

And lots of watches, Hum, wonder what I'll make with these????

Best buys of the day, this old typewriter with white keys

And the best buy, was this Beautiful Sage Green Hall donut Disk pitcher. it's perfect in every way, great color, no chips, great shiny finish. It's like it's never been used. I've only seen them in Books, and the price was very reasonable.

Now Let's play what is it. Any guesses???? I didn't buy it, just got the pic.

Here are some great old door T2T benches/hall trees

It was a great day. I'll be heading off to my 25th High School reunion tomorrow so I'll talk to you all on Sunday. Have a great weekend.

Hey, Margo! So glad you had a better experience with the Hwy 80 sale than I did! Maybe I'll try it again sometime. That coke carrier is too cool - and I love that basket!
Have fun at your reunion!

Sondra, Now how would you know what one looks like ;/ I have a guess, but I'm going to wait until you all have had a chance.

Is it some type of old gas light? You sure brought in a big haul! Looks like you had fun! I love those big hall trees! PS: Has your great mind thought of any use for the remaining parts of the typewriter?? :)

Hmmm. Since the bong has been guessed...I think it looks like the love child of an old fashioned beauty salon hair dryer and an old fashioned deep sea diver's helmet.

I love your new treasures - do you ever accept cleared out goodies from one's own stash? I have a box for you if you would be interested - I just don't have the heart to put in trash - I love what you have done with your jewelry and thought of you. I don't expect anything in return, you could throw the box away if you so choose, I have found you through Tina (I'm in xs with her on another bulletin board). Hey Margo: looks like you found lots of goodies. I couldn't make it out to the sale; maybe next year, but thanks for telling me!

Hi Margo,
I guess something to do with bugs.
I love your finds. What a great frame for only $3. Great typewriter too.
Have fun at your class reunion. You will have to blog about it.

You've got such a good eye. I would've passed most of what you purchased by. Sad really.

Hope that your reunion rocks!

I think the object is part of a Still for home brew. But that is just my Chemist Husband's thought.

All great and funny guesses. Judith, I'll be in touch soon.

I love what you purchased & that your dh went along. Mine would lose his mind so I leave him home & spend more:)
I think it's an old light house lightbulb.
Have a great day.
