Friday Finds and A Give Away

Be sure to read this post to the end for the give-away information.
First I want to show you my recent finds.

This is a great old toy typewriter made of metal, the keys don't actually punch down
but the white ones do.

& I found this pewter Sugar

The white thing is some sort of wall pocket, it's dated mid 1950's and has the name of a
statuary company on it.
The 2 smaller things are coasters I think, They are made of wood and have Victorian type
paintings on them. Anyone know what they are called.

I love this hat box, and these tins are made by Daher, and there is a small collectors market for them.

Some cute small china plates, and Yes, another Longaberger for 50c, Woo Hoo!!!!

Aren't these dishes so pretty

Now I need your help:

this old wagon is for sale at the mall where i have my booth. It is $150 I really like it and would use it as a coffee table in my guest room/spare room, which is usually set up as a seating area, but the couch folds out for guests. It's my Junk experiment room, and where all my "projects" usually end up.
Now I need to know if you think I should get it. Is that a reasonable price? etc.
Let me know your advise. Update: I've had several bloggers recommend that I dicker a bit with the dealer, this IS the "negotiated price", It's her rock bottom.

Now for the give-away. I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary in blog land and I want to celebrate with a give away.

You'll get these cute folders, 2 of my quilt angels, 3 of my faucet flowers and 4 of my formica chip tags. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post.
I'll draw the winner on Sunday and I'll be sure to let you know.

Good Luck
Margo

That wagon is pretty cool. Do you know the dealer that has it? you might see if they would take less - if not, then you just have to decide how much you like it!
How do you keep finding those baskets?
I don't know why I thought you had been blogging longer than that. I must have found you when it was pretty new! Of course enter me in the give-a-way. (and just a hint - you wouldn't have to pay any postage if you manage to pull my name out of that hat! LOL)

I just discovered you blog and have really enjoyed it. I think the cart is a very interesting piece and you may have buyers regret if you pass it up. I'll bee checking back soon to read blog.

I am saying get the wagon but do some haggling to get the price down, even if only the 10 percent that they most often do. I think it is a pretty amazing piece and you could probably use it for lotsa things; "Sizzlin' Summer Fun on the Patio" and then back to the guest room for your original idea.
You must have an eye for Longaberger baskets, lucky girl!!!
Congrats on your year blog.
Hey, I feel lucky, sign me up for the drawing too.
Wonder how many posts you will get on this one.

Hey Margo - looks like you found some good junk today. I never got to go - got stuck at work. Rats!

Enter me in your give away - wow 100 posts! That's awesome! TTYL - Vickie

Oh yeah - I love the wagon, but I agree it's a bit pricey. Perhaps they would let you dicker with them a little. You could do alot with it though. Even set it outside near your door with plants on it or dress it up for holidays. It's really neat! Hey you probably made enough at your Gresham barn sale that you could get several of those wagons! Loved all your stuff! Vickie

You inspired me to be the Junkreator. I've been making lots of junk inspired projects as of late. Tomorrow I am going to a huge city wide sale where everything is free. Oh, they call it Spring Clean Up and the trash trucks are supposed to pick it up. But we junkers usually beat them to it! CAN'T WAIT!

Margo,
You are always an inspiration! I love your blog and your trash to treasure creative style!

Count me in! I love those faucet flowers!
Personal opinion about the cart - I think it's high. Can you find something similar for less? I think that cart will be there for awhile unless someone with 150 extra dollars sees it and has to have it.
Thanks for your comment on my estate post. You have no idea how much better you made me feel!
Hugs,
Sher

Is that wagon formerly a garden store's wagon for flats of flowers? I don't have any idea of its value...seems steep to me, but what do I know? If, on the other hand, it speaks to you, calls your name, is unlike anything you've seen before, and will totally float your boat, why not? Could you purchase a new piece of furniture to function as you'd like in that space for less? Gosh, I'm wordy today!

What a great giveaway! Congratulations on nearly one year of blogging. Blogdom would NOT be the same without you!

Congrats on your 100th. The wagon is cute, but seems a bit pricey to me, but I am not sure how muchthese things go for. Good luck!
Have a great weekend, Janie

Margo:

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. As for your find you are thinking about purchasing I'd say it was a bit pricey. Maybe she'll come down if it doesn't sell until then I'd say "no". Love all your posts on AJC.

as for the wagon, I think it's a little pricey, but I always tell my daughter.... in a month will you say to yourself "I wish I had gotten the wagon" Or "I really think I should have passed on that wagon" :)

Hey, Margo. I always feel that it's better to buy and be happy, than to not buy and always wish that you had. Besides, you can pretty it up and resale if it doesn't work for you.
Congrats on your 100th post. Please enter me in your giveaway, how I would love your beautiful things.

Great finds. Happy 100th! The wagon seems a little expensive, but like others have said you might regret not buying it. I have done this many times and it drives me crazy.

I absolutely LOVE your work! Your creativity is such an inspiration! Thank you for putting a smile on my face!

Hi Margo i think you should buy the wagon, you could experiment with it and get some idea's should you come across another one.
Happy 1st year on your blog hope you have many more.Wynter

I'm thinking $150 is too high...wait her out and see if she caves on the price. However, having said that, it you find yourself constantly thinking about it, then buy it or you will regret it....

That wasn't very helpful, was it? lol

Magnolia Street Style said...

Happy 1 year anniversary. I have always found that I only regret what I didn't buy. But you know when it's right and when it isn't. I'm so cheap that spending $150 for one thing would be difficult.
