Backgrounds and Hurricanes

First I'd like to thank Shel's Scraps for my new blog background. She has several to choose from and they are free. I don't know if this is the one I'm going to stick with, but I like it for now.

Second: I'd like to say that all junk is safe as I am pretty far inland from Gustav. However, we are expected to get lots of wind and rain through Thursday. As a visual I have this pic that I took after Rita blew through a few years ago.

This is just my driveway, my entire yard was littered with limbs, leaves, pinecones and anything loose that got blown off the trees. The wind blew for a full day, and my poor DH got stranded in Dallas due to his puddle jumper flight being canceled. We are expecting Gustav to stall over us and drop up to 20" on us. It just started raining, but no real wind yet. I'll keep you all updated.
We are all tucked in and ready for 3 days of rain and wind, life will go on as usual. However, for my friends further south, Best of luck to you and I pray it passes you over.

Love the new background!
We didn't even have that many little limbs after Rita - we were just without power for nearly 3 days - and it was HOT!
It rained here for a bit, then stopped. Guess we will see what overnight brings.

http://hipposcraps.blogspot.com/ also has free backgrounds if you would like to check those out. I'm glad the hurricane hasn't affected you much. I just moved to Orlando and there are so many coming and going I'm constantly scared.

Cool new background! Is there a way you can put your 'text' in a 'bubble' or something though? It gets a little funky to read when the line of writing runs over the creases in the brown bag. Maybe it's just my OLD eyes that have trouble with that!

I'm sitting here breathing a huge sigh of relief that Gustav passed to the east of us. My house is right in the middle of the Azalea district, next to that "creek" that runs through it, and I flood so easily. I was prepared to start stacking furniture.

So we got lucky! YAY! And whew!

And PS - love your new background.
