First Monday Sights and Sounds

Before I make this post, I want to be sure you view the post below regarding the Calendar I'm creating, and the photo contest I'm having for it.

Now for Canton. Every October I meet up with a couple of friends from Dallas at Canton.
We shop, eat, visit and then head to my house for a movie and then on Saturday, more shopping at some local Tyler Stores.
These are my 2 friends (I look like an alien in this pic)

Why am I hunched down? I do not know.

So I headed to Canton a little early. You see my friends are not junkers, I knew I needed to junk a little so I headed out early. My first stop was at a linen dealer to pick up some old aprons for a friend. You'll hear more about what these aprons will be used for later in the month.

Then it was off to see "Door Knob Bob". Wasn't sure what I'd pick up from him, but I got a great lot of old faucet handles.

I also found some old springs, PO box doors, a bendy ruler and some hooks.

Then as I was heading to the Arbors to meet my friends I stopped off at the Veranda. Lilly and Margaret always do up halloween- big time.

Then I meet my friends and we make the Arbors circuit, and do some browsing out in the junk.
Of course we stop by Linda's place and take a look at her beautiful mosaic pieces.
Not my usual power shopping, but that is OK, friends are worth it.
I found a couple of interesting items to snap pics of for you. I guess bottle caps are the current junk of choice for some folks.

In our wonderings I found this wonderful old time-clock. I've seen one of these before, but never in person

It was a pretty good price, but I passed it up. I'm trying to be good and curb the purchases for myself for awhile. Aren't we all????
I just love old industrial machinery. Even the machines of the past have a great look to them.
That was my Canton trip this month. the only stuff I got for myself are the items you see in the basket picture above. I told you, I think I'm junked out. Don't worry, it won't last.
Be sure to read about and enter the photo contest. Deadline October 25

I just happened across your blog through some pleasant chance and wanted to let you know I've totally enjoyed looking at it. Actally I waited until I got to work to see it better and faster than my dialup internet would allow at home. Blogs with lots of pictures, which I totally love to visit, are often just too much for slow internet connections.

BTW, I love the photo of you at a younger age. Very sweet.

I love those PO doors. I wish that I could find one of those really old PO cabinets. Great blog.
