Christmas Ball Project #1

Well if you read the last post, you know I kinda went crazy at the goodwill with vintage Christmas balls. So of course I've got to come up with some fun ideas for these little beauties.

This is my first project, Can you tell what I made it from?

Maybe this will help

got it yet? OK, now you'll know when you see it this way.

Lamp Shade Frame
Remember, I told you to turn your junk upside down and let it speak to you.
One word of caution for this. Be careful when removing the bowl as to not let it slip like I did.

Oops!!!!

Fortunately I only broke 5 balls.
Stay tuned for project #2

Need your help finding something. The last time I did this it was such a success I've decided to send my blogging detectives out again. I want one of these.

It's technically a French Bottle Drying rack. Now I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, and I don't care if it's authentic. So if you know where I can get a
cheap knock off or if you have one lying around and dont' want it. Please Let me know. And remember I'm Cheap.

Love it! By the way, I was taking one of my vintage balls out of the package and it broke like a paper thin egg. Those vintage babies are very fragile! ~Mindy

Who would have thought? A lampshade frame! Just another thing to add to the overcrowded stash! Thanks for sharing this idea, I love it!

Margo, oh no! Nice way to display those new old Christmas balls. It's good to see that you are still wearing a grin.

Too cute! Bummer about the broken ones - hate it when that happens. I broke two ornaments when decorating the tree this year. (one I could fix, the other not so much)
I'm going to check my schedule and get back to you on that lunch and shopping thing!

I've been looking for one of those drying glass racks for a long time, too. There's always one popping up on ebay, but it is an arm and a leg!!! Let me know if you find one, or two!!! thanks.

Yes, you are cheap! But cheap is a good thing these days! Looks like you had fun gluing...I have always wanted to create stuff with a group of gals, and maybe a glass of wine. (very therapeutic) Love your wreath! Enjoy the Holidays!
Peace,
Ki

I know I'm a year late, but I also want a french bottle drying rack and have found some reproductions at www.thebeautifullife.com. Someone told me that you can take the broken ornament pieces and put them between glass and frame or tape w/stained glass tape and it looks beautiful. I haven't tried it but I break ornaments too!
