A good day, and a great husband

Several months ago, about the middle of September I was at an antique store with my DH and saw this wonderful old wooden toy horse. It was marked way more than I like to pay for stuff, so I just oogled it and then tried to forget about it. Well.....Christmas morning there was a strange shaped object under the tree.

I'll let the pics tell the story from here.

I was very surprised. I had gone back to that store several times, and I saw that it was gone, but never in my wildest dreams thought that my DH had bought it. I love old primitives like this, and it will get a place of honor in my home.
Thanks Roger, you're the greatest.

We had a great Christmas, spent Christmas Eve with extended family and Christmas day amongst ourselves. The meal came out good, which is always iffy when I'm the cook. Lots of leftovers, and DH helped clean up while I took a nap. I think I'll keep him ;) Later we went for a movie, but it was very crowded, and we decided to try it another time. The kids got what they wanted as usual, and then they were off to do fun things with their friends. So things are quiet right now. I always love this time of Christmas day, because It's all done (well except the putting away) and there is no deadline for that.
Hope you had a nice peaceful holiday too.
