Finalizing plans for Ki's visit

I'm getting so excited about Ki's visit next week. Maggie at The Veranda in Canton has graciously offered her location as a meet up point for our bloggers
Meet-N- Greet.

The Veranda is located on the Canton grounds in a big metal building at roads 43 & 43A - by the creek, just across from "The Porch". She will have some light refreshments for us.
Ki and I will be shopping Canton on Thursday May 28th.
The meet up time is 12:00 and Ki will be there for about 45 mins to 1hr to meet all of you. If you have a book or magazine you want her to sign, be sure to bring it.

Our day will be filled with lots of "things to do" and her schedule is kinda tight. People to meet and places to go as you can imagine. Please pray for good weather, not just for us but for all the flea marketers and sellers who need it.

I'm going to try to get Ki out to see all the folks I know, and we will do our best to stop by your place, but as I said the schedule is tight, so please be patient with us.

The Junk guest room is coming along and I promised some pics so here's a bit of a teasefor starters:

I found a great old dress form a few weeks ago, and purchased it because the price was right. I didn't think she'd have a home right away, and then Son#1 decided to get an apartment. So she went right into her new place. She will be dressed of course real soon. I hung my big windmill thing that I got at the Gresham Sale, and the map is actually an aerial survey from a long time ago.

For window toppers I cut one of my burlap coffee sacks in half and hung it by some old hinges. It works great, was easy and I already had the materials.

Remember, my goal with this space is to furnish and decorate with only stuff I already have. Except a bed and linens which we still need to get. I've not shopped in a "real" store in a long time, and was very disappointed in the choices for linens out there, and the prices.

That window treatment is so cool. I'm really enjoying seeing how this room is pulling together. I'm sure Ki will feel very at home in her cozy guestroom.

The excitement continues to grow! Your room is looking fantastic. Try Marshall's or T.J. Maxx for linens...great source at huge discounts. I sound like an ad!lol

The room is looking great! Have you checked Goodwill for linens? Sometimes they have some really neat vintagesque looking sheets. I've found some good quality cheap linens at Big Lots too, but you have to check frequently.
I'm sorry I'll miss you all at Canton. :( It sounds like it will be loads of fun.

I think what you are doing with the room is great and I second you that there is not a great selection for ready made curtains/drapes...I usually do buy my own- or alter some I got somewhere else...retail prices are hard to get used to when you are a junker!
