Anyone out there know about Marbles? Need help

Sometimes I run across a find, I know nothing about, but I do know it is unusual. Today's find is a perfect example.
Vintage marbles
you can click the pic below to enlarge

Here are pictures of what I have, does anyone know anything about them, or know someone who does.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'd like to know how to list them, what to call them. What they are made of, and if there is anything super special that should be listed separately.

Thx,
Margo

margo, i suggest you sell to someone local. check antique shops for someone who deals in them. the reason being to sell local is because you can get scammed online with marbles. people can buy them, you send it and then they keep the original and send back a substitute.
we have been in contact with several local dealers and they all advised us NOT to sell on ebay for this reason. marbles can be reproduced.
just my opinion though, :)

I don't really know anything about marbles except that some of the older ones used to be made from clay. It looks like some of yours are clay.

The only lead that I can give you is to check out 'iantiqueonline.com'. Maybe one of the groups there can help you. Good luck!

Hey Margo,
I was recently trying to check out some old marbles I found also. There are several people who sell on Ebay that have great pics and details. I would suggest you look at these. Here are the links of 2 that I found:

Hope this helps!

my daughter has started collecting marbles and MRS.MARBLELOVE on etsy has been very kind in answering some of her questions.

This site has a forum to ask such questions and I think there is a marble group too where you can post and ask. The little I've been there it seems to be a pretty good site.
