Cross This one off the Bucket List

Bucket List: A list of things to do before you die. Comes from the term "kicked the bucket".

I've just returned from helping with the Texas shoot for Flea Market Style magazine's next issue.

I was so honored when Ki asked me to help on this photo shoot, I knew what my job would be and I knew it would be lots of work, but it was also an opportunity to observe and learn and step out of my comfort zone for awhile.

My job was go-fer. I watched, waited and did what I was asked to do.
(I don't do well with waiting, in case you didn't already know that. I'm a doer not a waiter)
But I did my best to stay out of the way until needed.
My main job was to show up with tools and supplies. So with a car packed with lots of paper towels, duct tape, and band-aids I headed out.

When I arrived at the homeowner's place, Theresa Cano was already there helping with props. I adored this homeowner and can't wait for you to meet her when the magazine comes out. She's a true gem, and I look forward to getting to know her better in the very near future. Her home and yard were filled with eye candy every where you looked. Her dear husband was one in a million and was very helpful with some of the heavy lifting. These 2 folks are true down-home Texas Friendly.

And I can't help but mention the lovely Ellie who was both friendly and entertaining.
Sometimes I bond better with pets than people. And in unfamiliar situations I tend to hang with the animals. Thanks Ellie for the comic relief.

As far as that Bucket List goes, I can cross this one off.
I'm glad to be back home with my dear Husband and family, and the people I love. I am a true home body and enjoy being around the important people in my life.
Back to real life, work, and of course Junking, which is what I truly enjoy the most.

Be sure to pop over to the FMS blog for more behind the scenes antics.

Aha! Gotcha. You've been there, done that, and don't need to try it again.

I read your Flea Market post too! I always say... craftin' & junkin' can be hazardous to your health. I guess you can add "go-fer" to that list too! Ha! I bet the behind the scenes is interesting and more work than people realize. That's why we all love magazines so much because the photo's put us in a state of "dreamy perfection". We just see the wonderful old porch, with flowers & rockers... we don't see the wasp nest or feel the sting!
Glad you home in your comfort zone! Can't wait to see the article!

Oh Margo...my goodness - what a wonderful journey you are on. And I so appreciate your sincerity. I send so many congratulations with many "!" after.

I also appreciate the "coming home" part. I have a family of animals I return to every evening -- they all keep me grounded.

What a great job! Well, except for the wasp sting, having a fan fall on you, and klonking your head. But now you are experienced and you probably learned a lot that will help you. I've seen those big fans and some blow water. Definitely a must have in Texas.

Oh, what fun! Just to be a go-fer and a part of it all would be such a great experience. Good for you. One of my readers just told me about your blog and I'm glad I came to check it out. I love some good junk. :)
