The goods-March Canton finds

In addition to lots and lots of doilies I found a lot of fun things for Etsy.
Without further Adieu, these are my latest Canton finds. Above some number branding irons or stamps of some kind, Metal with wood handles.

Lot of 3 church hymnal holders and a bunch of wooden t-squares.
I was able to get several "lot" items this time :)

Military Regalia and tool tags

Metal letters/numbers and hymnal pencil and pad pockets

Glove molds, horse muzzle(sold)

And you know I can't pass up a trouble light cage :)

Feel free to inquiry if you see something you like. ALL of these items will be on etsy soon or are on there now.

Just a quick note: Several of you have been asking me questions in the comments field. I'd love to answer but your question does not come through with an email address for me to respond, So sad. Please check your preferences and make sure your email address is not hidden from your comments. Only I will see it, nobody else.

Busy Busy week-and new friends

About 2 weeks ago I got an email from Diane. I had met Diane at the Junk bonanza in September and she was coming to Texas. She wanted to know about area shopping and mentioned that she'd be stopping to shop at First Monday in Canton. Of course I answered any questions she had, Mentioned Winnie & Tulula's as well as Canton and we arranged a meet up. She surprised me by stopping by WT when I was working my space Wednesday afternoon.

Diane is one of the Barn chicks and she and her friend have several sales a year out of a Barn in Minnesota. Wish they had a blog or a web site or something I could send you to, but they don't just yet, hint! hint!

She and I arranged a meet up for Thursday in Canton and I left her at about 4:00 to head home and get some

Now my day job is keeping me quite busy these days so I had to spend Thursday morning at work, but headed out as soon as I could, around noon for the Canton Flea Market.

My first stop was to the civic center to buy some doilies, lots and lots of doilies

Why do I need doilies? Well I'm helping a friend decorate for her wedding reception at the end of May, and Doilies are one of the items we need mass quantities of. The Lady that sells Linens out of these big carts is a great source in Canton when you need lots of something and don't mind digging.

These lovely ladies helped me look while they were looking. We had such fun.

Then I was off to shop for a couple of hours before meeting up with Diane.
After our meet up I didn't grab any more pics because, we were so busy hunting and finding and visiting that I just didn't think about it. But we had a great time, and I introduced her to some of my Canton Vendor buddies, and we found some great stuff. The weather couldn't have been nicer, and the crowds were minimal. great for shoppers, not so much for dealers. But March is usually a moderately attended month. Thanks Diane for the fun afternoon.

I've got a fun doily project and pics of my Canton finds later this week.

Have a great Sunday
Margo

The Cotton Branch

Mr Robo and I decided to take a little trip to Canton on Sunday. I had already been earlier in the week and wasn't looking for anything in particular, I also wasn't feeling 100%, so I wasn't planning on any power shopping.

I guess he was, as he got 2 car jack stands, some metal saw horses and a shop stool for his garage workshop. I picked up a metal sign, a small light cage and this great branch of cotton from Maggie.

Now if you have kids call them in to take a look, and tell them that this is how cotton comes in it's original form. My 19yr old son had never seen it like this and I realized that most kids haven't.

Well Mr Robo thought it was the silliest thing I had purchased EVER. I told him that he just didn't understand. I've been trying to find cotton for forever.

As we were walking back towards the "funnel cakes" and a lady stopped to ask where I found it, and later while eating funnel cake, two different ladies stopped to ask me where I found it.

He kept telling them we would sell them ours, while I jabbed him with my elbow. Men!!!!
Anyway, I think he realized I wasn't as crazy as he thought I was, either that or every other woman is as crazy as his. :)

I looove my cotton branch! oh yes, and Mr Robo.

She's a Bad Influence On Me

That was the montra as Jodi and I visited Canton first Monday trades days this week.

Our goal was to pick up a few of our Arkansas treasures that were being brought to us by one of our Canton dealer friends. He happily agreed to bring these things down to us as our trailer was too FULL at the time.
You can read all about that trip here, but not until you finish this post :)

We had to pick up 3 pieces of metal furniture, a drafting table and an old industrial cart. No small items there!!!!

I just love this old industrial cart, imagine it as one of those industrial coffee tables like was in Restoration Hardware.
It's at Winnie & Tulula's right now, but you might have to ask about it, as it's in the "back room".

So with empty trailer in tow, Jodi and I headed down the road.
And then it happened, the first thing Jodi bought was an 8' table!!!!

Can you believe it? That girl is not afraid of large items at all. But who could blame her, It was a great table, and I can see why she couldn't pass it up. Afterall we have a 10' trailer right. Well we managed to get it all packed and were heading down the isles to the exit and what do we spy? Something else she just has to have, that girl does drive-by shopping :)

Well we found a way to get it all in there and managed to get it where it needed to go.
This is the inside of the truck. Now remember this is my Dh's truck and I've been sworn not to put junk inside it and scratch it up. "I promise, I'll take care of your truck", I always say. Shhh don't tell anyone how much stuff we crammed in there. We were careful afterall.

Now for a whatzit?
do you know what it is and can you possible imagine what I am going to do with it?
