Flower Frogs

I'll never forget the first time I heard the term "Flower Frog" my reaction was "what's a flower frog". Since then, I've learned just what these great little items are and how they are used. But What is more interesting is all the different sizes, styles and shapes they come in. I was planning on writing this post for awhile now, and Lori over at Katie's Rose Cottage beat me to it. She's got a post today on the uses for the "pin" type frogs, so check it out after reading this.
First 3 pics from various Ebay auctions.

These little guys can be quite nasty if you catch them wrong with your fingers. They come in many sizes, from very small, about 1" dia. to 5" or more. These are great to display photo's etc. I use them in my booth for signs.
Then there are the glass ones.

These are fun, and come in lots of colors and shapes. I have a friend who uses hers to store and display her thread scissor collection.
Then you have your figurine Flower Frogs.

Upright, and cage shaped

What fun things these are.
But I've found some pics of some really unusual ones.
as seen on this web site.

And this is my favorite. The one that started me looking online at the different types of frogs. It's in the book "The New French Decor" and they call it a Flower Arranger.
I'd love to find one of these.

So if you know where I can find one, Let me know. I hope you've enjoyed this little post about Flower Frogs. The 2 in the picture (upright and cage) are in my booth and available for purchase. If you want to see more, simply google flower frog, or do the same on Ebay and you'll see lots of different styles.

FYI, If you are a Tyler Texas local and happen to be near Noonday on Saturday. Be sure to pop into Our Little Corner (the pink building) and say Hi, I'll be there all day.

I'd like to give a shout out to a "lurker" that I met today at my booth. Hello Olivia, it was very nice to meet you. I love meeting my readers, so if you ever see me out and about, be sure to say "hello".

Don't forget to tune in on Sunday Morning for my on-line Garage Sale, and check out Mindy's Garage Sale Saturday Morning.
Take Care,
Margo

A happy "ribbit" to your flower frogs. I didn't realize there were so many kinds.

Until your post, I had not realized all the variety in flower frogs. The last time I saw one (a pin type), it was selling for $25 and I thought that was too steep.

Hope that Olivia will feel right at home commenting now that she's met you!

Fun post! I collect the "pokey" flower frogs. I love using them to hold vintage flashcards, postcards, photos, etc. I wonder if little Christmas candles (like the ones that fit into the clips) would work in a glass flower frog? I may have to try it. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Fun post! Thanks for stopping by my "party". I hope you got something to eat or drink before you "hopped" off. Debbie
