Wonderful New Find

Recently, while working my space at Winnie and Tulula's I spied these beauties.
Gloria said they are grape picking baskets from France. She brought them back from her recent European Buying trip.

Well I fell in love with them, and later thought of the perfect use for one.

I love the side strapping. I can't decide if I want to clear coat it or not. What do you think?

Doesn't it look fabulous for holding fire wood. I know it's August, but Fall and Winter are just around the corner. One can never be too prepared :)
I know I've been a little MIA but life has been getting in the way a bit. I have found some fun treasures and will post them soon. Stay Tuned.

Less than a Month Away... Fall and Sales

As Fall is teetering on the edge of Summer, my thoughts begin to turn to the many sales coming up.

After a long hot summer here in Texas, I always enjoy my September Trek up to Minnesota for the Junk Bonanza. Each year they manage to out do the year before. But the best part is the people I meet there. Each year I come back with not only junk treasures, but friendship treasures as well.

Just after the Bonanza is the 2 weeks of Antique Fun in the Round Top/Warrenton area of Texas. Known as antiques week, it's really 2 weeks and is full of junk, fun and more friends as well. I usually don't attend the Fall show, but I plan on making it for at least 2 days this year.

Then in October comes the Fall Gresham Barn sale here locally, and it is always a blast. Several years I've sold there, but I've also just worked, and not sold. I enjoy the girls, and the treasures, and the customers and I always enjoy helping out.

Then comes the holidays and even more sales. Summer is for finding the goods, and Fall is for selling them. I'm ready for cooler temps and lots of treasures. How about you?

Updated information on the Shipping and mailing of the next issue of Flea Market Style

Hello everyone, I wanted to take a minute to update everyone on the status of the Fall issue of Flea Market Style. The distributor has not yet shipped copies to us retailers, and we are waiting patiently. I was told they would ship to us around the end of this week, fingers crossed.

My goal is to stay up as late as I need to, to get them mailed to all of my customers within
2 business days of receiving them.

If you ordered a combo pack of both the Spring and Fall issues, they will be shipped together.
If you've ordered the Spring issue alone, they have already been shipped, and I am current and up-to-date in getting those out.

Can't wait to see it myself, but I won't take any time to peak at it until they are all mailed out to you;) Well maybe on my bathroom break.

Stay tuned here for status and announcements.

Treasures in Quantity

It's always fun to find treasures in Quantity. Today I began to reflect on some of the fortunate finds I've made along the way in multiples.

As the cone-heads would say, "Let's consume mass quantities"

Sign letters are often found in quantities

There is also something so fun and wonderful about displaying items in my booth spaces in quantity. And they seem to sell better that way too.

When I found these globes I brought home 6 total.
I bought 10 total of these and similar individual chalk boards

A whole box of wooden pant hangers, have been a big seller

Tarts anyone???

Lucky find, Old advertising ash trays, all at one sale.

Sometimes I get my multiples from pickers
But many times I happen upon them myself.

How often do you find a collection of industrial time card holders, and in multiple colors as well?
Sometimes I just accumulate mass quantities, as in these light cages.
I hope you enjoy this little photo essay of my "quantity finds". Some of these items I still have some, have moved onto other homes.

You can even get furniture in quantity from time to time.I hope you find mass quantities of everything that makes you smile this week.

Fall 2011 Flea Market Style Cover Reveal

I just love being on the FMS team, Because every-so-often I get a few sneak peaks. Just a few mind you. ..But this is one of the best. Last week I was emailed a copy of the approved cover for the, soon to be released, Fall issue of Flea Market Style.

Fun thing about this cover is that it also reveals one of the projects in the magazine , one of many...

If the cover is any indication, and I'm sure it is, the Inside will be fantabulous!!!

And there was an added bonus. While Ki was here in Texas she made a few purchases at Winnie & Tulula's, one of them was that Globe on the Lucite Base that you see there, Woo Hoo Winnie & Tulula's makes it big once again.

We are anxiously awaiting our shipments of the magazine, and I assure you, as soon as I get mine, I'll be busy working to get them out in the mail within 2 business days.

If you want to order one to be mailed to you, simply go here for all the info.
International shipping options available. I'll ship anywhere.

Watch for various give-aways as well, and don't forget to enter the Junk Bonanza Give away, see post below.

Hey I had one of those!!!!

Still having fun with Etsy Treasuries. It all started with the record carrier box you see below. I began to think of things I actually had while growing up, and it developed into this treasury. None of these items are mine, but they all bring back memories. Click any picture to be taken to the treasury page to view the items better.

Mrs Beasley was my favorite doll, and has since been lost. The graphic record carrier, could really play tricks on the eyes. One time I was home with a fever, and was staring at it from bed. Then it all changed shape, It's an optical illusion Stare at it long enough and you'll see what I mean. My radio like the blue one was yellow. All the other items were part of my daily life until I found Boys. :) They were either decorations in my home, items from our kitchen or the always present Avon bottles. Oh the memories. Thank you for indulging me.

Dang it's hot outside!!!!!

Even this girl has her limits!

So I've been hiding away indoors working on some jewelry projects.
re-fluffing some past projects
Hoping my AC holds up...
while this fabulous shelf waits outside for my attention.

Fun stuff on the horizon. Give away's coming over at Flea Market style as the Fall issue will be hitting shelves in August, yep you heard right... AUGUST!
Don't want to hunt for it, Let it come to your door, Click here for information on ordering by mail.

The Junk Bonanza is coming in September and watch for some fun regarding that in the very near future.

I'm also spending some time indoors learning some French for my Spring Trip to Paris. I'm up to #4 and a few phrases, but I've got lots of time:)

Fresh Finds

I'm such a wimp, and decided to stay in the air-conditioning instead of going to First Monday this past weekend. I did, however, manage to find some great things here locally.

We'll start with this fabulous old record holder, Various bits of hardware and a wonderful bicycle license plate from Denmark (I think).

I love anything in quantity and what a fun ephemera find. A whole batch of these old florist cards with great vintage graphics. All in perfect, unused condition.

And some brass hinges and box corners
Best find of the weekend, has to be this sign
No language barrier there!!!!!

Hope you saved a lot of treasures as well.
