Upcoming sales around Town

Spring is in the air and the occasional sales are starting up. Here is a list of sales by friends, or friends of friends. If you live near one of these sales, I encourage you to stop in and prepare to be dazzled.

First is the Gresham Barn sale in Gresham Texas. Gresham is just outside of Tyler Texas. Now is a great time to make a weekend visit to Tyler and take in the Azaleas that are in full bloom at this time. Stay at one of our local B&B's, Shop the sale, and drive the Azalea Trails, and have a great get away.

I'll have more pics of the setting up process for this sale throughout the week. I saw the goodies on Saturday and it will be wonderful. Lots of garden, and outdoor stuff as well as spring fun and furniture inside. Whether you are looking for Small unique accessories or big furniture pieces, you will not be disappointed.
This sale has a preview party on Wednesday night, so set you calendar and be there or be square.

Next We have the Red Shed Girl's Sale this Saturday

Play on Words

I walked out into my garage to continue pricing the other day and saw this.

The sun was shining through one of my mirrors and onto the large chicken feeder behind. I made this mirror with the verse reference from Proverbs "her children rise up and call her blessed".

I am truly Blessed
Have a great weekend

Getting ready for the Gresham Barn Sale & some new finds

It seems that I find a way to "junk" every day. And this week I'm also very busy pricing and cleaning stuff for the upcoming Gresham Barn Sale Next Week.

This is my load of smalls, Washed and priced and ready to load

A few things stacked out by the trailer ready to be loaded

Remember these rockers, they will be there.
And these 2 wicker pieces if I ever get them painted. I started to change them from black to white, but the white just wouldn't cover, so back to black we go.
I Think I've used over 6 cans of spray paint.

And stuff is stacked inside as well, Lots of burlap pillows
And displays too. The display below is to show samples of the letterpress printers type pendants I make. Folks will be able to choose their letter, and get their pendant within 10 days. You can order one here

They fit on any chain or pearl string with my scroll hook design

And even with all the pricing work I've worked in time to do some junking.

Found this great chippy bench Monday, and the metal round stand last week

Fun old retro lamps and trouble light cages to be washed, Thank you to my friend Anita, who is always on the look out for things I like.

Look at this wonderful metal box with drawers, Still needs to be cleaned up.

Today's finds, A wonderful old mirror and Seafoam green stool

This week
Sunday, Canton and Easter dinner with Family
Monday, met with pickers in nearby town, found great stuff
Wednesday Another picker in the evening, more good stuff &
Work on booth during the day
Thursday-Estate Sales and Garage Sales

I'm sure I did something on Tuesday, I just can't remember what.

See you at the Barn Sale next week.

What I got at Round Top

I just realized that in all my posts I've only shown a small bit of what I brought home, so here are some more pics of my treasures.
The picture above was taken at First Monday yesterday, I just loved this trailer and had to share it with you.

Cash Register Clip Panels I got 3,
Below Architectural pieces, and metal bins for display

Above, Industrial Foundry Molds, and More Bins below.

I said "no more chicken feeders", but yet I brought one home anyway.
That dust pan is pink, and wonderful, and on ebay this week.

Stool, hose reel, & dust pan, were purchased at the estate sale mentioned in the prior post.

Some smaller fun items. Those humming bird things, are old bakelite shade pulls.

Enamel signs from Germany

Greyhound Hood Ornaments,
I don't think Gigi, is too impressed.

More metal dogs, and some old 8mm movies. All on Ebay this week.

Ceramic Sign letters, I got all those O's because I thought there might be a project for ceramic circle. And the black letters spell out BOO for halloween next year.

The C, U, and N are on ebay this week.

Well that is most of my haul, as I said before, I had a great time.

Many of these items will be appearing on my Ebay now or very soon, so check it out, or feel free to email me about anything you see. My email link is on the side bar.

And Don't forget, The Gresham Barn Sale is coming up real soon

Round Top Story-The ones that got away

I'll complete my reporting on Round Top with this last, sad sad story.

On my way back to the fields from my hotel on Friday morning, I followed a sign to an estate sale.
I saw some old metal chippy furniture on the lawn, and walked right by it knowing I had no trailer and no way to buy it if, by some small chance, it was priced reasonably. I proceeded towards the garage and then into the house to find a few goodies. Then after checking out I casually walked past these wonderful chairs and my jaw dropped.

Chairs only $10 rocker $20. Now the pic is not good as it was taken with my phone, but you can see their wonderful shape. They are metal, and were just the right amount of rusty, and chippy white too.

And there I was with no trailer, and no room in the car.....what to do?

I pick up my phone and call my friend Gloria of Sweet Peas... no answer. I wait, I call again... no answer. I decide to hang my head in despair and head down the road.

Abount 10 mins later, Gloria rings me back. Her suggestion is that I turn around, pay for them, and come back for her van. Sounds like a plan and off I go.

As I arrive back at the sale, I see them still sitting on the lawn, my heart races, adrenalin is flowing! I walk up and see the tags still on them, I look around for the worker, I catch his eye, and wave him over. "I'll pay for these now and come back with a van later today" I say, as he looks bewildered, and confused. I am waving the masking tape price in my hands as I'm talking.

At that exact moment, a woman walks out of the house and says "my Mother and I just bought those". Then the worker states in frustration "I can't keep track of all this" shaking his head. My heart sinks, I'm sure my expression was that of great despair, what can I do but walk away, heart in hand.

As I relate this story again and again all day to various vendor friends, my story ends this way.
I didn't get the chairs, but I got a story and the story was free. :)

Always look at the bright side!!!!!!

He Has Risen Indeed!!!!

This poem was written by the Husband of a fellow Junker, and she was kind enough to let me re-print it. What we do with Junk, God does with us.
Finds us, Prizes us, Cleans us up, and Saves Us. .

Curbside Archeology

She prowls in duty in the night,
In snow, or rain or when it's dry.
And curbside trash if she can find,
she wrestles from the garbage fly.
Thus humbled to this curbside waste
She grabs it, then departs in haste.

One can the more, one bag the less
Had half impaired hat shameless grace
That searches deep within each sack
The smell of refuse on her face.
But odors can not drive her back
Unless a skunk be in that place.

And now my dear the night's no more
Your fingernails are cracked and wore
The smell of skunk is on our clothes
But you found one legged pantie hose
And even though your treasure's tore
You've had success, now you want more.

She searches darkness for the lost
Redeeming from a certain fate
That which was useless and cast off
To revive its sorry state.
Thus washed and cleansed at her own cost
Saving before it is too late.

As Jesus hearkens to the lost
Redeeming us from certain fate
when God to us seemed so far off
Christ restored us to His Gates.
Thus washed and cleansed at His own cost,
saving before it was too late.

Winnie & Tulula's Window and Re-set

Let's take a break from Round Top for a day so I can show you what I've been doing at my space at Winnie & Tulula's

It was my turn to do the window. I saw the idea to use the bicycle wheels from Anthropologie (I think). I had 5 of them, and 2 were hot pink and wonderful.

I just filled in the rest with spring stuff and some metal letters that spell Play.
I think it made a fun and unique window display.

Then on to the booth reset.

I copied a picture of Bachman's store for my re-set

My oldest Son, Allen came to help me with the heavy stuff and took some pics while he was there. He has such a good eye. The one above is his pic.

I got this green bin set at Round Top, it's perfect for my space, Nobody buy it please!!!!

I changed everything and removed a bunch of stuff for the upcoming
Gresham Barn Sale

I added new stuff too.
The items above and below are new from Round Top. Above is something, but I'm not sure. I think it's a rack for brooms and such. There is a piece of wood, with metal arms and a wooden ball between each arm. I have 3 of them and, I think they would be great art for the wall. Very industrial and unique. Not sure what the thing below is, but it's round, metal and I think copper. Also great for the wall.

Well that was my day at Winnie & Tulula's. The weather is so nice here, I love Spring. I need to stop and enjoy it, because it is so short and Summer will be here with a vengeance very soon. Nights and mornings are cool, and the days are warm, but sometimes with a cool breeze. It feels like California to me.
